CALDWELL, ID – Forget what you think you know about The Nutcracker. This holiday season, Canyon Dance Academy is breaking tradition with Cracked: A Nutcracker…Reimagined. On Saturday, December 13th at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM at Caldwell High School, audiences will experience a daring retelling of the holiday classic that trades predictability for surprise and timelessness for innovation.
This isn’t your grandmother’s Nutcracker. Cracked fuses ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, breaking, contemporary, acro, and musical theater into a dynamic production that reshapes the story of Clara, her toy soldier, and the fantastical world they enter. It’s a Nutcracker for today—bold, exciting, and completely unexpected.
Young fans can step into the magic early at Clara’s Tea Party on Saturday, December 6th at 1:00 PM, where they’ll meet Clara, make holiday crafts, and set the stage for a week of festive fun.
“This show is designed for anyone who has ever thought, ‘I’ve already seen the Nutcracker,’” said Heather Jensen, director of Canyon Dance Academy. “Cracked will surprise you, delight you, and give you a brand-new reason to fall in love with the magic of the season.”
Tickets will be available beginning November 15th at 8:30 AM. Seating is limited.
